Psalms Poems
Psalm 23
The holy God of eternitychooses to shepherd a sinner like me.I’ll struggle with evil as long as I liveyet He won’t forsake me for I am His.
The holy Creator, the sinless Oneleads me to rest when I’m overcome, feeds me with words of wisdom and right, provides me with calm in the darkness of night.
He inspires my prayers and joins in my song, instructs me through scripture when trials are long.My Shepherd holds me in arms of love, and prepares me a place I can only dream of.

Psalm 41
From everlasting to everlasting
You are God.You are God.
From everlasting to everlasting
You are true.
From the earth and through the heavens,From my heart to realms on high,
From the depths of my emotionsto the heights my praise can fly
You are true.You are true.
You are God.

Psalm 48
Have you tasted of sin and its heavy consequence?Did you end up with addiction, guilt, disease?Did you finally run to Jesus in contrition and repent?Share that with the next generation.
Did you gain a new perspective on the holiness of God?Has He seen you through more trials as you’ve followed His decrees?Do you weep knowing His love for you when you are cry and flawed?Share that with the next generation.
Have you seen God’s hand in fauna, on the mountains, on the coast?Does enjoying God’s creation your soul please?Time spent with your children is what matters to them most.Share it with the next generation.

Psalm 27
Why should I be afraid? You are my God!Why should I fear the future? You have it planned! Why should I question your will? You have proven your love!
Because I am still immature.Because I feel fatigue and pain.Because I dwell on this placeand have yet to see You face-to-face.Because I must live by faith.
Meet me here, Lord. This is where I dwell-this place of sickness, sadness, madness. This is what I deal with each dayas I make my way Home to You.

Psalm 44
A calamity has come upon us,and now all our enemies mock.We went out to fight and were smitten. It was so unexpected,it put us in shock.
We don’t understand the disaster. We don’t understand the result. We assumed You would lead us to victory. It doesn’t make sense. We are not at fault.
A tragedy could make us bitter, when life wounds our hearts with a spear. In time we will get a perspective.Let’s stay in God’s willuntil He makes things clear.

Psalm 70
Carry On
We carry a weight as we grow oldin this world. It’s on our backs in our thoughts in our sighs in our hearts.
We carry a song as we grow oldin this world. It’s in the flight of a carefree bird the friendliness of a butterfly the grip of a tiny, trusting hand the ripple of a creek the tall pines holding clouds still for a spell so we can rest in the shade - God’s habitat.
We carry a hope as we grow oldin this world. We grow closer to our Savior farther from our trials saturated in His wisdom. We rest in our Father’s care with visions of the pearly gates and Christ’s outstretched arms.
